How to Design Personalized Stationery
Personalized stationery isn't just monogrammed cards for people named Margaret. It's one of the most quietly confident things you can own — a small signal that you take your communication seriously.
Here's how to approach it:
Choose your format. Flat cards are versatile and modern. Folded cards give you more room. Mini cards are charming for quick notes or gift tags.
Decide what to personalize. Your name, initials, a monogram, or even a custom illustration. Less is usually more. A single initial in an elegant font can be more striking than a full name.
Pick your palette. Stick to one or two colors. Neutrals are timeless. One pop of color adds personality without overwhelming.
Choose your paper. Heavier weight feels more substantial and photographs beautifully. If you're going letterpress, you'll want at least 110 lb cover stock to hold the impression.
Order a small batch first. Your taste will evolve. Start with a set of 12–25 and use them. See what you'd change. Then refine.
Personalized stationery should feel like you — just on paper.
