Wedding Invitation Budget Breakdown

What affects the cost: quantity, paper quality, printing method, suite complexity, customization level, addressing and assembly

Let's talk money, honey. Wedding invitations can range from "surprisingly affordable" to "wait, paper costs HOW much?" — and understanding what drives the price helps you plan smarter.

What affects the cost:

  • Quantity — More guests = more invitations = more cost. Simple math.

  • Paper quality — Standard cardstock vs. thick cotton paper vs. specialty textured stock. You can feel the difference, and so can your guests.

  • Printing method — Digital printing is most affordable. Letterpress, foil stamping, and engraving are gorgeous but add to the price.

  • Suite complexity — A single invitation card is very different from a full suite with RSVP card, details card, and envelope liner.

  • Customization level — Semi-custom vs. fully custom (see our previous post!).

  • Addressing & assembly — Calligraphy addressing and stuffing/sealing services are worth every penny for your sanity.

A good rule of thumb? Budget $3–$8 per invitation for semi-custom and $8–$15+ for fully custom, depending on printing method and suite size.

At Viola & Beatrice, we work with a range of budgets and love helping couples get the most beauty for their dollar.
